At the age of 25, Leonard Schreiber is one of the most
exciting and promising soloist of his generation.
He recently recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra
works by Vieuxtemps, Franck, Ysaÿe and a world creation by
Brossé conducted by the composer himself.
In May Leonard was invited to play in Shanghai at the
Oriental Arts Centre for the World Expo 2010. One of the
performed works will be released on EMI this coming
November.
Leonard has given concerts throughout Europe, USA, South
America and China in prestigious venues such as: Royal
Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Opera House
Covent Garden, St-Martin-in-the-Fields, St James Piccadilly,
Vienna Konzerthaus, Salle Gaveau - Paris, Théatre des
Variétés de Monaco, Palais de l'Europe, Parvis du Festival
de Menton, Queen Elisabeth Hall - Antwerp, Herengracht
Amsterdam, Teatro Verdi Trieste, Prince Felipe Auditorium
Oviedo, Tel Aviv Opera House, Jerusalem and Haifa
Auditoriums, Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre.
Orchestras Leonard has performed with, include the London
Symphony Orchestra, Orpheus Sinfonia, London Soloists,
Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra, Arion Orchestra, Royal
Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders, Prima la Musica, the
European Philharmonic Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony
Orchestra, Lima Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquesta
Sinfonica Nacional del Peru, Orchestre Romantique Européen,
Collegium Musicum of Kiev, St Petersburg Orchestra to name a
few.
Conductors he worked with include Dirk Brossé, Rani
Calderon, Christopher Fifield, Achim Holub, Jason Lai,
Richard Laing, Michael Lloyd, Sir Roger Norrington, Georges
Octors, Jean Bernard Pommier, Brien Stait and Neil Thomson.
Leonard began the violin at age 5 and made his concerto
debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders a
year later.
At 11, he won the “Herman Krebbers International Violin
Competition” in Maastricht, Netherlands, which gave him the
opportunity to perform many concertos with various
orchestras. Leonard then won a few international violin
competitions including “Piccolo Mozart” in Italy, the “Junge
Stars von Morgen” in Germany and the “Young Concert Artist
Trust Competition” in the UK.
He also participates in various Masterclasses with teachers
such as Dr. Felix Andrievsky, Herman Krebbers and Boris
Kuschnir, and soloists Shlomo Mintz and Maxim Vengerov.
At the age of 13, Leonard left his native country, Belgium,
to study in the UK at the Purcell School of Music, where he
was awarded a full scholarship. Subsequently, at only 16
years old, he received the “Foundation Scholarship” to study
with Dr. Felix Andrievsky at the Royal College of Music in
London, graduating with First Class Honours. He then
completed a “Masters in Performance” with Dr. Levon
Chilingirian also with First Class Honours and became
soloist of the year by winning the prestigious “Concerto
Competition” at the Royal College of Music.
Mischa Maisky invited Leonard to take part in a programme
produced for the Japanese television company NHK. In June
2009, Radio France chose him as “Artist of the month”. This
included interviews in the French magazine Classica, on the
radio programme “Dans la Cour des Grands” and a recital
broadcasted “live” by them.
He has had the honour to play for Prince Charles at Windsor
Castle, at Spencer House and at Buckingham Palace for his
60th Anniversary. Leonard played at a Gala event for the
European Commission and is often invited to give private
concerts for Head of States and Royalties.
Leonard plays on an Italian violin by Alessandro Mezzadri,
Ferrara 1710, kindly loaned by Georg Von Opel.

Léonard a été invité pour l’ouverture de l’Exposition
Mondiale 2010 à Shanghaï, à «l’Oriental Arts Centre». L'une
des oeuvres interprétées à cette occasion a été éditée par
EMI.
Léonard s’est produit dans les principales villes
européennes, aux Etats-Unis, en Amérique du Sud et en Chine,

Léonard commence ses études de violon à l'âge de cinq ans.
Un an plus tard, il donne son premier concert avec
l'Orchestre Royal Philharmonique de Flandres. Ayant obtenu
une bourse à la "Purcell School of Music" de Londres, il
quitte la Belgique à l'âge de treize ans. Il approfondit ses
études musicales et passe son baccalauréat à 16 ans.
Il est ensuite le plus jeune étudiant du "Royal College of
Music"(conservatoire supérieur) également à Londres, où il
obtient la "Foundation Scholarship". Il se perfectionne avec
le professeur Felix Andrievsky. En 2004 il obtient sa
licence avec "First Class Honours". Il poursuit un «Masters
in Performance» avec le professeur Levon Chilingirian et
remporte le prix du meilleur soliste du Royal College of
Music.
Léonard suit régulièrement des « masterclasses » avec des
professeurs tels que Felix Andrievsky, Herman Krebbers,
Boris Kuschnir et avec des solistes comme Shlomo Mintz,
Gérard Poulet et Maxim Vengerov, qui lui prodiguent leurs
conseils.
Il a été l'invité de Mischa Maïsky pour un programme produit
par la télévision japonaise NHK.
En
2009, le magazine « Classica » et Radio France l’ont
choisi comme «Découverte du mois de juin».
Il est l'invité de Gaëlle Le Gallic sur Radio France
dans «La cour des grands» (entretien et récital) et
a été élu «Coup de cœur» par les auditeurs de France
Musique.
Léonard a eu l'honneur de jouer au concert de Gala
célébrant le 60ème anniversaire du Prince Charles, à
Buckingham Palace. Il s'est produit lors d'un Gala
pour la Commission Européenne. Il est souvent invité
à jouer à des concerts privés pour des Chefs d'Etats
et des Têtes Couronnées.

(Ferrare 1710) prêté par le mécène Georg von Opel.
